It is always a pleasure to see people enjoy our food and come back for more, it is especially great to have satisfied guests book private events!
Kristel attended our Mindanao Supperclub with some family & friends in November last year. It was the first Filipino Halal Supperclub, in the UK at least! She tried some regional dishes from Mindanao including Tiyula Itum (Spicy beef and burnt coconut soup with ginger, lemon grass and turmeric), Beef Short ribs Adobo with coconut milk, Seafood Kare Kare (Stew in Peanut Stew), Binaki (Steamed sweet young corn in banana leaves) and Durian ice cream.
For Kristel’s birthday in early February, a special menu was created for her guests. The Birthday menu was Chicken Inihaw (BBQ Chicken Skewers), Lumpiang Sariwa (Fresh Spring Roll with Chicken and Garlic sauce), Tiyula Itum (a favourite of Kristel’s from the Hala Mindanao Supperclub), Bisayang Humba (Pork Belly in a Soy, Vinegar and Black Bean sauce), Turon (Deep Fried Plantain Spring Rolls) and Benignet (Rice Balls and Mango & Tapioca Pearls in a sweet warm Coconut Milk and mixed exotic fruits).
It was a great evening with 13 of Kristel’s nearest and dearest enjoying a wide array of Filipino dishes from all over the Philippines. A big THANK YOU to Kristel and her guests for sharing such an occasion with Pepe’s Kitchen!
